eJADA Compliance for eCliam Submission
It is next to impossible to bring back the patient to the clinic/hospital for re-examination to record the mandatory vitals that is necessary for eJADA compliance, but was not captured during the consult or to order and collect sample for a Lab test, that is mandatory for the captured Diagnosis.
Non-Compliance to eJADA requirements leads to claim rejection and revenue loss. Don't let the limitations of the software you currently use, (not being able to alert your doctors that necessary data have not been captured before they complete a consult and the patient leaves your premise), cause huge revenue loss for you. Further the new eJADA compliance rules also requires you to submit the date and time of capturing the data, which further complicates things, even if you manage to get the patient back to the clinic/hospital for re-examination on another date and time.
As per DHA regulations, compliance to eJADA requirements is mandatory, before submitting Insurance claims and the failure to do so will result in claim rejection. There are 17 clinical parameters that needs to be submitted mandatorily, based on the patient's diagnosis and/ or orders in the claim.
If this process is manual or is dependent on human memory, it causes immense challenges to the claims processing team, to ensure that any of the 17 Parameters required are captured and is part of the submitted claim.
Further, if the fact that some parameter like BP Systolic/Diastolic or BMI was not captured, or a lab test was not ordered/ conducted is realised several days after the patient has completed the consult and gone home, it can never be captured again, resulting in claim rejection and revenue loss, or may result in fudging uncaptured mandatory data and getting into more serious problems later during an audit. Added to this, the authorities can continuously demand new mandatory parameters be included from time to time, thereby increasing the complexity of the problem.
